I am a Principal Engineer, currently working at SlashID, building the next-generation Identity-as-a-Service platform. I have 12 years of experience designing and implementing dependable and scalable systems, focusing on security, privacy, and compliance. I have a strong background in computer science, holding BSc and MSc degrees from Instituto Superior Técnico, University of Lisbon, Portugal. I have helped build multiple high-performing engineering teams, from fewer than 10 engineers to more than 300, having scaled businesses to over 100 million dollars in ARR. I was one of the first engineers at Talkdesk and Hopin, now Series D companies. I have vast experience in contemporary technologies such as Ruby, Rails, Golang, Java, C, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, RabbitMQ, Kafka, ZooKeeper, gRPC, GraphQL, Avro, Protocol Buffers, OAuth, OpenID Connect, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and a panoply of AWS and Google Cloud services.
