Ananya Roy

I'm currently a staff software engineer at Netflix. I lead a team of engineers working on large ambiguous projects and multiplex my time between technical design and architecture reviews, planning and prioritization, cross functional alignment, stakeholder interactions, hiring and on boarding to bring about clarity and alignment in order to be able to execute efficiently and predictably to deliver results. I have worked in a couple of different domains like personal assistants at Alexa, building cloud services for networking components at Microsoft Azure and studio/finance infrastructure at Netflix but regardless of domain I enjoy building operationally efficient large scale distributed systems and infrastructure. I've been involved in teams working in different stages of the product lifecycle -- worked on building 0 to 1 products as well as been involved in re-writes and been in teams where the work involves making large enhancements to critical systems in production. Passionate about talking about soft skills around effective context sharing, gathering alignment, providing constructive feedback, running effective meetings as much as I am about talking about technical implementations!
