David Hendrickson is a seasoned engineering leader, accomplished author, and passionate technology enthusiast based on the west coast. With over 30 years of experience in engineering and software in the medical device and biotechnology industries, he has dedicated the last decade to managing global software teams and serving as a professor and Executive Director of the Technology Institute at the City University of Seattle. He has taught at various private and public universities throughout his academic career, including the City University of Seattle and Central Washington University. David’s professional journey has been diverse, encompassing roles such as electrical engineer, systems engineer, program manager, manager, and director working for companies such as Philips, Boston Scientific, and Medtronic. He holds patents in machine self-healing and automated repair systems and has participated in standards committees. His entrepreneurial spirit was recognized when he co-founded a technology startup, awarded “Startup of the Year” by Business 435 magazine, a Seattle area business publication. David holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, a Master’s degree in Software Engineering, and a Ph.D. in Information Systems. He further pursued his passion for learning by studying Systems Engineering at Johns Hopkins University before obtaining a Master of Technology Management from Columbia University in the City of New York.
