I am Kent Beck, Chief Scientist at Mechanical Orchard. For 4 decades I have pioneered humane & effective software development. Some ideas I've contributed to: patterns, JUnit, Test-Driven Development, Extreme Programming, 3X: Explore/Expand/Extract. I'm the author of 8 books, most recently "Tidy First?: A Daily Practice of Empirical Software Design". In my spare time, I enjoy painting, both abstract "what the inside of my head looks like" pieces & nightscapes. I am also a passionate hiker & poker player.
