I firmly believe mentorship is vital to everyone's personal development and as someone who continues to benefit from it, I would love to pay it forward. It is an honor to pass on learnings to the next wave of leaders in our rapidly evolving field. I'm a software industry veteran of almost 25 years. Currently I freelance as a fractional Head of Engineering, VP of Engineering, or Engineering Manager for startups and small businesses, and provide technology guidance and mentorship to select clients. My expertise lies in end-to-end mobile-adjacent systems, particularly in Android, and I am expanding into the AI/LLM space. Over my career, I've spent a lot of time scaling mobile software and have had the privilege of building both products as well as teams -- at massive corporations, late stage pre-IPO companies, and tiny startups. At Branch Metrics, I was responsible for delivering the next generation app search and discovery experience on Android devices worldwide. Previously, I was Head of Software Engineering at Mason, a Series A startup where I built and led a team of engineers to deliver Android "hardware as a service" to enterprise customers. I've worked on the mobile OS code bases of Windows CE/Mobile, Amazon Fire phone, Cyanogen OS, and Mason OS. In my free time I enjoy tennis, and co-host The Sliced Serve, a tennis podcast for wannabe tennis nerds.
