Rohan Kulkarni

I am Rohan Kulkarni, a Director of Software Engineering at Expedia Group. Currently, I lead multiple engineering teams and leaders working in the UI Platforms and Framework space to deliver high-quality customer experiences in the travel space. I work with stakeholders and Product and TPM leads to build and prioritize the work backlog per quarter. I also mentor and coach engineers, development managers, and individual contributors, including ongoing training and development, performance reviews, coaching, recruiting, and disciplinary actions. I have 6+ years of experience in Engineering Leadership where I have been responsible for evolving our products by innovating on existing tech stacks and building new technology with a long-term mindset. I also drove my teams to innovate and deliver roadmap features with agility and high quality. Additionally, I mentored and motivated Engineering Managers under me to navigate ambiguity and overcome new manager challenges. In my free time, I am passionate about mentoring and coaching aspiring engineers. I also enjoy playing soccer, teaching chess and board games.
